Mi-28NM helicopter crews disrupted the AFU rotation in the Kursk border area

An army aviation crew on a Mi-28nm helicopter as part of a mixed tactical group has disrupted the rotation of Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) units in the border area of Kursk Region. This was reported in the Russian Defense Ministry on January 31.
The ministry specified that the crews were performing tasks to support ground troops. They received coordinates of the exact location of the enemy, after which they launched missiles, thereby disrupting the rotation and destroying equipment and manpower of the AFU. The advanced aviation gunner confirmed the destruction of the target.
Having made the strike, the crews performed anti-missile maneuvering at extremely low altitude with the firing of heat traps preventing the enemy's man-portable air defense missile system (MANPADS) missiles from hitting the target and left for a safe place.
Earlier, on January 30, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that air assault crews on Su-25 aircraft carried out missile air strikes on camouflaged armored vehicles and personnel of AFU units in the border areas of Kursk Region.
The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6, 2024. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
