The Msta-B howitzer destroyed an AFU stronghold in the SSO zone

A 152-mm Msta-B howitzer of the Center group of troops has destroyed a Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) stronghold on the Krasnoarmeyskoye direction of the special military operation (SMO). This was reported in the Russian Defense Ministry on January 31.

"Fire mission - work on the enemy stronghold. The target was hit, I assess it well," said howitzer-artillery division commander Arman Valeev.

It is specified that Russian artillerymen received exact coordinates of the target from drone operators, after which servicemen of the Msta-B gun crew pointed the gun and hit the stronghold with rapid fire with real-time fire correction.

Artillerymen perform a wide range of firing tasks, while using different types of ammunition and since the day of the NWO, the artillerymen have been successfully fulfilling all the tasks assigned to them.

"Artillery units, specifically my battery, is a 2A65 gun, which is designed to destroy and defeat enemy manpower, fortified areas, equipment, strongholds," said Vladislav Yakovlev, the battery's senior officer.

"We didn't come to fight for someone else, we came to fight for our country."

Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Uragan multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) of the Guards Tank Army of the "West" group of forces destroyed an accumulation of armored vehicles and manpower of the AFU in the zone of the North Caucasus Military District.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
