Psychotherapist explains Russians' demand for esoteric goods
Psychotherapist and psychiatrist Aliaksandr Fedorovich explained that the growth of consumers' demand for esoteric goods is connected with their uncertainty about the future.
In a conversation with Radio 1 on Thursday, January 30, the specialist called the purchase of esoteric goods a search for support.
"Going to a psychologist, psychotherapist - it's all complicated and supposedly tedious. And here they are offered occultism, a 'specific guarantee'," the expert noted.
According to Fedorovich, turning to esotericism is the path of least resistance, where no work on oneself is involved.
In November, the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) said that fortune-telling on tarot cards is a pseudoscience, and tarotologists are fraudsters who take advantage of people's vulnerability in difficult situations. In addition, it added that there is no scientific justification or indirect evidence of the reality of such actions.
