- The expert called the consequences of the murder of the organizer of the Koran burning rally in Sweden

Political analyst Dmitry Levy expressed the opinion that the murder of the organizer of the Koran burning rally in Sweden, Salwan Momika, would not lead to protest moods in the country.
In a conversation with Lenta.Ru on Thursday, January 30, the specialist noted that one should not expect an explosion or vivid reactions because of the situation. He explained that it was already in the center of media attention, as the process was underway, and it was at the finish line with the verdict. Society had already said whatever it wanted to say about it.
According to Levy, the crime was a reaction from the conservative part of Swedish society, supporters of conservative Islam after religion was used as a political tool.
On January 30, it was reported that 38-year-old Quran arsonist Salwan Momika was shot dead in his home in Sweden. He is believed to have been live streaming on social media at the time of the murder. His body was found on the evening of January 29. On January 30, the Stockholm District Court was scheduled to hear his case for inciting ethnic hatred. The session was canceled due to the death of one of the defendants.
Iraqi refugee Salwan Momika held a Koran-burning rally at Medborjarplatsen square in central Stockholm in June 2023. The Swedish Foreign Ministry said that such behavior was a demonstration of freedom of speech. In response, a protest was held outside the Swedish Consulate General in Istanbul, during which activists defiantly burned a Swedish flag.
