- 17.6 km of protective structures against fuel oil emissions have been erected on Kuban beaches

In the Krasnodar region continue work on the construction of special structures for protection from new fuel oil emissions and storms. This was reported on January 30 by the press service of the operational headquarters of the Krasnodar region.
"From the Central beach of Anapa to the village of Veselovka in Temryuksky district along the coast have already made 17.6 km of structures to protect beaches from storm and new emissions of fuel oil," - said in a statement in Telegram-channel.
It is reported that the map, which notes the creation of a special protective berm with a moat and a strip of polypropylene nets, has been updated - now the total length of the moat has become less by 1 km and is 6.5 km. In some sections, the polypropylene network covers the sand berm.
"The work is being carried out on several sites at the same time. Including on hard-to-reach areas along Bugazskaya spit between Blagoveshchenskaya station and Veselovka settlement", - follows from the statement.
These measures are taken in order to protect the main part of the beaches from storms in February. At the same time, the ditch and shaft should stop the surge wave, and polypropylene nets should absorb fuel oil fractions, in case they are thrown out by the sea.
Earlier, on January 26, the Russian Emergencies Ministry reported that new fuel oil emissions were detected at 17 sites on the Black Sea coast. The agency added that localized emissions of oil product fractions are already being eliminated.
January 23, Head of the Ministry of Natural Resources Alexander Kozlov said that the Russian government would allocate 1.5 billion rubles to reimburse the costs caused by the elimination of the wreckage of the two ships. The head of the ministry said that Rosprirodnadzor would calculate the amount of damage caused to the ecosystem by the fuel oil spill in three months. Later this amount will be charged to the perpetrators of pollution in court.
The tankers Volgoneft-212 andVolgoneft-239crashed in the Kerch Strait on December 15, 2024 due to bad weather. The incident resulted in a spill of oil products. 27 people were evacuated from both vessels, one person died. On the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a working group was set up to coordinate work to eliminate the consequences of the emergency.
