In the Cheremkhovsky district of the Irkutsk region, a 70-year-old man died as a result of a fire in a house for two apartments. This is reported by the regional GU of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia on Thursday, January 30.

The fire occurred in the village of Russkaya Alar. According to the rescue Department, a 70-year-old man fell asleep with an unextinguished cigarette, which fell on the bed and led to the fire. The pensioner died, the residents of the neighboring apartment managed to evacuate.
