Sales of new hybrid cars in Russia almost tripled


At the end of 2024, 62.8 thousand new hybrid passenger cars (both plug-in and "soft") were sold in Russia. Over the year, sales of such cars grew 2.9 times, according to the analytical agency Avtostat on January 30.
However, last year, hybrids accounted for 4% of all new passenger cars sold in Russia. However, in 2023, this figure was even less - 2%.
Over a third (37%) of the market of new hybrids belongs to the Chinese brand Lixiang, whose cars are not officially represented on the Russian market. Thus, 23.2 thousand hybrids of this brand were sold in 2024.
The second place in the ranking goes to Voyah (8.7 thousand units), which is officially present in Russia and has a share of about 14%. BMW (7.3 thousand units) also broke the barrier of 10%. The top five brands by hybrid sales were completed by Mercedes-Benz and Tank (4 thousand and 3.9 thousand units, respectively), and the share of other brands does not exceed 5%.
Earlier in the day it was reported that the production of Chinese hybrid cars Voyah started in Russia, production is established in the Lipetsk region at the enterprise "Motorinvest". On the conveyor belt of the plant got up successive hybrids Voyah Dream (minivan) and Free (crossover).
January 29, it became known that the Ministry of Industry and Trade included Evolute models (i-Pro, i-Jet, i-Joy, i-Van and i-Sky), as well as Voyah Dream and Free in the program to stimulate demand for cars in 2025. Haval Jolion was excluded from the list of vehicles that fall under the terms of the program.
