A comment on the victims of the plane crash in Washington will appear after confirmation from the American side. Andrei Bondarev, spokesman for the Russian Embassy in the United States, told Izvestia on January 30.

He said that on the night of January 30, the American side refused to provide data on the victims, promising to do so in the morning.

"While we are waiting, we have no confirmation. We have officially requested information from them. We will give a comment after confirmation from the Americans," Bondarev said.

On the night of January 30, an American Airlines passenger plane and a Blackhawk military helicopter collided near Ronald Reagan National Airport in Washington. A total of 60 passengers and four crew members were aboard the American Airlines plane. There were three military personnel in the helicopter. Preliminary, there is no data on survivors.

US President Donald Trump called the airplane crash that occurred in Washington terrible. He said that the tragedy could have been avoided if the helicopter crew had changed course.

On the same day, NBC News reported that the bodies of more than 30 victims were recovered from the Potomac River at the site of the plane crash in Washington. The wreckage of American Eagle Flight 5342 and a military helicopter continue to lie in the river.

It was also noted that on board the airplane American Airlines, tentatively, were eight skaters and four coaches.
