The nuclear-powered icebreaker "50 Let Pobedy", which was damaged during the release of the vessel in the Kara Sea on January 26, continues to work in normal mode. This was reported on Thursday, January 30, by the press-service of Atomflot in its social networks.

Now, according to the voyage assignment, the nuclear-powered ship provides the vessel's escort. The main area of navigation is the Gulf of Ob and the Kara Sea, writes IA "Bi-Port".

As the company explained, the damage did not affect the icebreaker's seaworthiness. Only the upper section of the hull bow in the area of the skipper's pantry has defects. In the nearest future a repair team will be delivered to the vessel, which will perform the necessary work without entering the port.

The winter-spring navigation period for the nuclear-powered ship "50 Let Pobedy" will end at the end of May 2025. At the Atomflot base, the ship's crew will be engaged in routine preparation for tourist voyages to the North Pole.
