Many Americans do not approve of the active role of American entrepreneur Ilon Musk in the administration of US President Donald Trump. This is evidenced by the results of a poll conducted by Quinnipiac University.

According to the poll, published on January 29, 53% of respondents said that they do not support the active role of Ilon Musk in the Trump administration. At the same time, 39% of respondents expressed support for him.

The poll results also showed that 90% of Democrats disapprove of Musk's active role, while 73% of Republicans expressed the opposite opinion.

"Ilon Musk, an influential and key player in Trump's entourage, received a mixed assessment from respondents. And women are more critical of him than men," said an analyst who reviewed the poll.

The poll was conducted from January 23 to 27, it was attended by 1,019 Americans.

Earlier, on January 20, the media reported that at the celebration of the inauguration of US President Donald Trump, Ilon Musk showed a gesture similar to the fascist greeting, thus causing a strong reaction in social networks. Later, on January 21, Musk accused representatives of the Democratic Party of using dirty tricks.

In 2024, Ilon Musk actively supported the candidacy of Donald Trump for the presidency of the United States, speaking for him at rallies. On January 20, US President Donald Trump signed an executive order creating the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), to lead which he appointed the American entrepreneur. It was reported that among the main goals of the new structure is to optimize government spending, as well as to upgrade federal software to levels accepted in the private sector.
