In the Leningrad region ticks have awakened earlier than expected

In the Leningrad region, ticks have awakened earlier than expected. This was due to the warm winter, reports the press service of the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor on Thursday, January 30.
As explained in the department, the territory of the region is endemic for tick-borne viral encephalitis, so from dangerous insects should be protected by vaccination. Especially attentive should be mushroom hunters, who rejoice in the abundant appearance of winter opiates, reports TV channel "78".
To avoid becoming a victim of ticks, it is necessary to observe precautions: wear closed clothes, treat the body with repellents and carefully examine yourself and pets after a walk.
Earlier in January, Rospotrebnadzor warned that the tick season in Russia may start earlier than usual. The situation will differ for different regions due to the variety of natural conditions.
