Two men died on Lake Baikal after falling into the water with a car. About it on January 30 reports the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Irkutsk region in Telegram-channel.

"Two men who went fishing in a UAZ car did not get in touch. Acquaintances sounded the alarm," - stated in the statement.

It is specified that rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were sent to the search. They found the sunken car 70 meters from the shore. Inside were the bodies of men.

At present, work is being carried out on their lifting.

Earlier, on January 18, it was reported that the car with people collapsed into the Obvodny channel after the accident and drowned. According to preliminary data, another car crashed into the car at the intersection, after which the driver mixed up the pedals and pressed on the gas, as a result of which the Mercedes knocked down the grating of the embankment fence and fell into the water. A 37-year-old local resident and her 14-year-old daughter died in the accident.
