Media reported the transfer of Israeli hostages to ICRC staff in the Gaza Strip


Israeli hostages Arbel Yehud and Gadi Moses were handed over to International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) staff in Khan Yuniska in the southern Gaza Strip. Reuters reported on January 30.
"Gadi Moses, 80, and Arbel Yehoul, 29, <...> embraced each other in the presence of masked and black-clad militants," the publication stated
According to the agency, they will be taken to hospitals in Israel.
On the same day, it was reported that one of the hostages released in the Gaza Strip was handed over to the Israeli military. Upon arrival, she will undergo an initial medical examination.
On the eve it became known that the Palestinian radical movement Hamas will release Israeli hostages on January 30. The list was transferred through intermediaries - Qatar and Egypt. In addition, the Palestinian movement, as confirmed by Israeli officials, is going to release on the same day five of the eight hostages, who are citizens of Thailand.
Prior to that, the first phase of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas went into effect on Jan. 19. During this phase of the deal, which will last 42 days, 33 Israeli hostages and some 1,900 Palestinians are to be released. On the same day, the movement released three hostages in exchange for 90 Palestinian prisoners, and on January 26, four military girls were handed over to the Red Cross.
The situation in the Middle East escalated on the morning of October 7, 2023, when Hamas launched a massive rocket attack from the Gaza Strip into Israel. On the same day, Israel began retaliatory strikes.
