Russia is sincerely interested in resolving the energy crisis in Transnistria. This was stated by the republic's president Vadim Krasnoselsky on January 30. His interview was published in the YouTube channel of the presidential press service.

"In my work with Russia, I have observed a sincere interest in Transnistria getting gas, in people getting gas. I assure you, there was no politics, no claims to us. There was only one desire - to supply gas to Transnistria," Krasnoselsky said.

According to him, the Russian side has always been interested in this topic, so it is ready to work with all proposals to solve the energy crisis. The most important thing is that people have gas and heat.

He also thanked the Russian Energy Ministry and all those involved in the important mission to supply gas to Transnistria.

Earlier, on January 16, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia was ready to help Transnistria in the fight against the gas crisis. At the same time, Peskov stressed that Chisinau should ensure the conclusion of relevant contracts, as well as offer certain logistical solutions for the implementation of supplies.

Gas supplies from Russia to Moldova and Transnistria stopped on January 1 due to Ukraine 's refusal to extend the agreement on transit through its territory and debts of the Moldovan side to Gazprom. In mid-January, it became known that Russia was ready to provide assistance to the DMR and start humanitarian gas supplies.
