A Vladivostok resident, suspected of beating and raping a woman in the entrance of a residential building, has been detained. This was reported on January 30 by the Investigation Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia's Primorsky Krai.

"Detained a suspect in the commission of a crime in a criminal case," - stated in the Telegram-channel of the agency.

According to the official representative of the Ministry of internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk, he turned out to be a 37-year-old local resident. He had previously been convicted several times.

Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin instructed the acting head of the Investigative Committee of Russia in Primorsky Krai to prepare a report on the progress of the criminal case and the clarified circumstances.

Theincident in Vladivostok became known earlier in the day. A man beat and raped a woman, after which he fled the scene.

Izvestia's source said that the victim does not remember how she ended up in the entranceway. According to her, she was riding in a cab in the evening with two men, one of whom at a certain point hit her. A criminal case has been initiated on this fact.
