The artist-director of the cartoon "Hedgehog in the Fog" Francesca Yarbusova filed a lawsuit for protection of infringed copyrights against the Bank of Russia. This is reported on January 30 by the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of Moscow in Telegram-channel.

"Plaintiff Yarbusova F.A. indicated that in 2024 the Central Bank of the Russian Federation put into circulation 3 types of coins "Hedgehog in the Fog" from the series "Russian (Soviet) animation", - stated in the statement.

In its opinion, the Bank of Russia violated copyright when it used the result of its activity without authorization of the author. At present, the issue of accepting this claim has not been resolved.

Earlier, in September last year, the Central Bank of Russia issued more than 1 million commemorative coins dedicated to the Soviet cartoon "Hedgehog in the Fog". They consist of nickel-coated steel and color-coated copper-nickel alloy and were printed in mintages of 850,000 and 150,000 respectively.
