The situation on the border of Belarus is not easy at the moment. This was stated by Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko on January 30.

"The situation on the borders is not easy, we've been constantly talking about it. Not only border guards, but also customs officers, especially at checkpoints, have enough work today. The queues on one side and the other are huge, it's an additional burden on our border guards," BelTA agency in Telegram-channel quotes the words of the head of the republic.

He also notes that all law enforcement agencies are involved in the defense of the Belarusian border, as it's difficult to ensure the protection of more than 3.6 thousand kilometers by border troops alone.

Earlier, January 28, spokesman for the State Border Committee of Belarus Anton Bychkovski reported that the situation on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border is controlled, while the presence of about 15 thousand Ukrainian military was recorded at the time. According to the spokesman for the Border Committee, "violations of the state border with Belarus were also recorded from the neighboring state" until mid-2024.

Prior to that, January 21, Lukashenko said that there were armed gangs near the borders with Belarus, which had not abandoned plans to seize the country's territory, so citizens should be more vigilant. January 27, he said that the Belarusian authorities would not allow "the boot of an invader" to step on its land .

January 16, State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Alexander Wolfowicz said that Belarusian extremists abroad, supported by the West, were planning to seize the border region of the country. He also said that Ukraine was being used by the West to wage a proxy war with Russia and Belarus.
