Deputies of the Moscow Region Duma have passed in the third reading a law on the introduction of fines for non-payment of toll roads. The Administrative Code of the Moscow region is supplemented with a new article, TASS reported on January 30.

Fines for non-payment will amount to 3 thousand rubles for citizens and 10 thousand rubles for legal entities. For cargo vehicles the fines are higher: 5 thousand rubles for citizens and 15 thousand rubles for legal entities.

It is noted that the driver will be released from administrative responsibility if he pays the toll within 20 days after the fine was issued against him.

The first toll highway of regional significance in the Moscow region - Mytishchi Chorda - opened in December last year. It connected the Yaroslavskoye and Dmitrovskoye highways, becoming the Northern understudy of the Moscow Ring Road.

By the end of 2025 it is planned to complete the construction of the Yuzhno-Lytkarinskaya highway, which will connect the main highways of the south-east of the region. The project is realized within the framework of concession between the government of Moscow region and LLC "Lytkarinskaya toll road".

On January 22, it was reported that the Mytishchinskaya high-speed chorda continues to operate in toll-free mode. This was announced on its website by VIS Group, which implemented the highway project under a private concession initiative.
