The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation has prepared a draft law that provides for the use of the data of passed medical examinations for registration and issuance of medical certificates to drivers. This was announced on January 30 by Health Minister Mikhail Murashko at a meeting on the results of interagency cooperation in the field of improving road safety in 2024, reports the press service of the department.

It is noted that this solution will reduce the time costs of citizens in the registration for the necessary services, through the use of data of professional examinations and medical examinations.

In addition, drivers will not have to undergo repeated examinations to obtain medical certificates for driving.

The minister also pointed out that an improved order of the Ministry of Health of Russia on the procedure of medical examination will come into force on September 1, 2025. In addition, Murashko emphasized the importance of transferring the data of alcohol intoxication examination to narcological dispensaries at the place of residence of drivers.

"This is extremely important then - for the narcological service when issuing a medical report, including the right to drive a vehicle," - explained the Minister.

In December last year, the State Traffic Inspectorate urged drivers to replace the license with expired in 2022. The agency reminded that the owners of invalid licenses will have to undergo a medical examination, pay the established state duty and get a new license by applying to the State Automobile Inspectorate.
