Air traffic control operators were trying to establish communication with the Black Hawk military helicopter before its collision with a passenger plane in Washington. This was reported by CNN on January 30, referring to the conversations of the dispatchers, published by the LiveATC service.
In the recording, the dispatcher is heard asking whether the helicopter crew sees the CRJ700 airplane, then orders it to give way and fly behind it.
"Less than 13 seconds later, the audio recorded audible sighs, including a loud "oooh" in the background, apparently from the tower, at the time of the crash. The tower then alerted the other pilot to what had happened," the TV station publication stated.
