FAS uncovered a cartel of headphone sellers on marketplaces

The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has uncovered a cartel of headphone sellers on marketplaces, the press service of the antimonopoly authority reported on January 30.
Entrepreneurs entered into an agreement to establish, maintain prices and eliminate competitors. They had their own chat room in messenger, in which they used an online table to organize illegal activities.
The perpetrators synchronized price increases, monitored compliance with the agreements, and acted together against sellers who did not support the anticompetitive conspiracy. Among other things, they left negative reviews, ordered competitors' goods to other subjects of the Russian Federation or countries without redemption.
"27 participants in the conspiracy were found to have violated antitrust laws. One of the defendants, after familiarizing himself with the evidence in the case, filed a confession and may be released from administrative responsibility. The rest of the entrepreneurs face administrative fines", - specified in the FAS.
Earlier, on January 14, it was reported that the Federal Antimonopoly Service revealed a cartel in the supply of medicines worth more than 1 billion rubles. The tenders were held for the needs of public health care institutions in 54 Russian regions, including within the framework of the national project "Health Care". A case of violation of antimonopoly legislation was initiated against two organizations.
Before that, on December 17, 2024, FAS uncovered a cartel worth 15 billion rubles within the framework of the national project "Safe Quality Roads". The implementation of the illegal agreement was revealed at tenders for the construction, repair and reconstruction of highways in the Krasnodar and Stavropol regions.
