Captured AFU serviceman told about looting among Ukrainian servicemen

There is lawlessness in the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) units, officers together with their subordinates allow themselves to drink and take things out of civilian houses. This was reported on January 30 by the AFU prisoner of war Ihor Parfentyev.
The soldier noted that together with him on the exercise to the American instructors brought people with addictions.
"They bring a variety of people: they can be alcoholics, drug addicts, they can be normal people. We still had Ukrainian instructors - they were majors, senior lieutenants. They basically agreed with what the Americans explained to us, but NATO standards do not apply on the frontlines in Ukraine," he shared.
After training, Parfentyev was sent to fight in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR), where he got to see the actions of his commanders, who were looting and getting drunk.
"When we entered the first village of the DNR, we needed to settle the military, we were given orders to evict the residents from the huts and put the military there. We had mortar men in our neighborhood, they got <drunk> there, and when they were leaving, they 'cleaned out' the apartment they lived in, they also borrowed money for vodka from the saleswoman and did not return it," he pointed out, adding that there were also cases of drunken fights in the unit.
Parfentyev was captured when Russian servicemen stormed the stronghold where he was staying. He said the live force was abandoned to its fate, with officers controlling their subordinates remotely without being in their unit.
"I radioed in to report the attack and that we needed support, but we were told by our commanders, 'Hold on, it might be their own mixed you up.' <...> We began to retreat, despite the fact that the brigade commanders forbade us to leave our positions. And then our own FPV drones started working on us," the POW added.
On the eve of the captured serviceman of the 117th brigade of the AFU Ivan Starshuk reported that seven Ukrainian soldiers in his unit refused to comply with the combat order of the command and their further fate is unknown. He added that he himself was mobilized by deception: he found himself in the ranks of the AFU after he was "invited" into a TCC (military recruitment offices in Ukraine) vehicle, only to be "updated and released home."
The special operation to defend Donbass, which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
