On board the plane that crashed in Washington, according to preliminary data, there could be coaches of Russian origin. This was reported on January 30 by the manager of world champion Ilya Malinin Ari Zakaryan.

"We know that there were our own, skaters on board. There were coaches with Russian roots. We are waiting for an official statement," he told TASS.

Zakaryan specified that there was no Malinin on board the downed plane. Also, TASS quoted a source as saying that world champions in figure skating in pairs as part of the Russian national team Evgenia Shishkova and Vadim Naumov could have been on board.

Currently, the Russian Embassy is investigating whether the Russians were among the passengers of the aircraft that crashed.
