An expert named the main reasons for the closure of Svetofor stores in Moscow

In Moscow, stores of the Svetofor retail chain are suspended under lawsuits of Rospotrebnadzor. Konstantin Derevskov, general director of the industry consulting company Start Quality, told Izvestia on January 30 that the retail chain's main threat to Rospotrebnadzor is the lack of a pest control program.

"The absence of a pest-control program in general indicates the retail chain's failure to comply with primitive requirements that are regulated by sanitary rules (SanPin), as well as the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union (TR CU 021/2011) concerning sanitary safety," he said.

The legislation states that pest control activities should be carried out at least twice a month. The pest-control program includes an extensive set of measures aimed at ensuring cleanliness and safety in commercial premises, such as conducting deratization, disinfection and disinsection.

Also, the negative outcome of "Svetofor" was influenced by the retail chain's policy of locating stores in buildings with poor infrastructure, where there is a high probability of rodent and insect infiltration. Nevertheless, the key role is played by regular disinfection of retail space, says the expert.

If a retail chain neglects timely treatments, there are no traps and circuits for pest control, and supervision of these processes is not carried out, it leads quite quickly to negative consequences associated with the emergence of insects and pests, especially if the store has expired goods.

Earlier, on January 14, it was reported that Rospotrebnadzor will conduct unscheduled inspections in the retail chain "Svetofor" amid numerous violations - sales of low-quality and unsafe products.

January 29, it was reported that in Moscow about half of the stores of the chain "Svetofor" may suspend their activities due to violations of sanitary and epidemiological legislation. It was specified that during inspections in the stores were found insects, as well as garbage and dirt in the loading rooms. Also expired and low-quality goods were revealed.
