Two unique high reliefs "Glory to the Banner Bearer of the World, to the Soviet people!" and "It's better to live, it's more fun to live" can be seen at the exhibition of the Tretyakov Gallery at VDNKh in pavilion 1 "Central". This was reported on January 30 on the portal of the mayor and the government of the capital.
The high relief "Glory to the Banner Bearer of the World, to the Soviet people!" is the work of the sculptor-monumentalist Evgeny Vuchetich, the author of such famous monuments as "Warrior-Liberator" and "Motherland Calls!".
The "Banner Bearer of Peace, Glory to the Soviet People!" depicts the solemn procession of the people of the Soviet Union against the background of the most famous architectural objects of the socialist era - the high-rise of the Lomonosov Moscow State University, the Dnieper Hydroelectric Power Plant and the Shukhov Tower. More than 1.5 thousand people are represented on the high relief, 30 main characters of the foreground were written off from real people. For example, among them are scientist Ivan Pavlov, actress Alla Tarasova and twice Hero of Socialist Labor Nazarali Niyazov.
The high relief created for the opening of the Central Pavilion in 1954 was later hidden behind sheets of plywood. It was discovered in 2014 during the restoration of the pavilion. This work of art became one of the most significant finds at VDNKh.
The second unique high relief was created by the hands of Soviet sculptor Isidor Frich-Khar. "Living has become better, living has become more cheerful" or "Holiday in an Azerbaijani collective farm" is executed in the majolica technique. The author depicted a sumptuous feast of people amidst the bountiful nature. The bright color palette of the work reflects the atmosphere of real universal joy. The work shows the author's vision of collectivization.
"#TretiakovkaNAVDNKh became the first art exhibition in the pavilion, which opened to visitors after a large-scale restoration under the program "Revival of VDNKh". Here are paintings and sculpture of the leading masters of 1930-1960s of the XX century, as well as contemporary artists", - stated in the message.
The exhibition will last until September 2025.
Earlier, on January 28, it was reported that the updated V anniversary Art and Industry Exhibition-Forum "Unique Russia" in Moscow's Gostiny Dvor is waiting for guests on January 29, 2025. Until February 9, visitors will be able to see and purchase works of traditional art from all over Russia, as well as works of masters from BRICS countries.
