A resident of Irkutsk region was sentenced to 18 years in prison for setting fire to the military commissariat in Bratsk. This was reported in the press service of the Second Eastern District Military Court on January 30.
"Mikheev having studied, directed to him methodical materials on the commission of terrorist acts, as well as on the manufacture of incendiary mixture, fulfilling the task of the "curator", made an incendiary mixture and with its help carried out the arson of the building of the military commissariat", - stated in the message of the press service in Telegram-channel.
As a result of arson, the convicted caused damage in the amount of 1.5 million rubles. It is specified that he was also charged with financing Ukraine. According to the court ruling, the resident of the Irkutsk region will spend the first five years of imprisonment in prison, and further he will be transferred to a strict regime colony.
Earlier, on December 17, 2024, a young man was detained after setting fire to a military recruitment office on Tchaikovsky Street in St. Petersburg. It is specified that the detainee is 24 years old. He told law enforcement officers that he acted allegedly on the instructions of his handlers. The circumstances of the incident are being established.
