FSB officers detained an SBU agent in Donetsk


The Federal Security Service of Russia (FSB) has detained a Donetsk resident, who in the interests of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) collected and transmitted information about the locations of military equipment and personnel of the Russian Armed Forces (AFU) units on the territory of the republic. Arina Klepanova, the official representative of the Russian FSB Department for the DNR, said on January 30.
"The Department of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Donetsk People's Republic in the course of the fight against intelligence and sabotage activities of the Ukrainian intelligence services identified and detained a resident of the city of Donetsk, suspected of espionage in favor of Ukraine," she said.
A criminal case under Article 276 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Espionage") has been initiated by the investigative unit of the FSS of Russia in the DNR.
Earlier, on January 21, a representative of the Russian FSSB in the DNR reported about the detention of a resident of Mariupol, suspected of high treason and espionage in favor of Ukraine. The detained Ukrainian citizen had been collecting and transmitting information to the Ukrainian security services about the locations of Rosgvardiya units near the city.
