The Russian Armed Forces tankers told about the liberation of Novoelezavetovka in the DNR

Tank crews of the 80th tank regiment of the 90th Guards Tank Regiment of the Vitebsk-Novgorod twice Red Banner Division of the Center Group of Forces, who took part in the liberation of the village of Novoelizavetovka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) from the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), have given details of the assault. The Russian Defense Ministry reported on January 30.

"The extreme task was to liberate the settlement of Novelizavetovka. We went in with infantry, the task was to get infantry and suppress enemy points. We coped with the task," said tank commander Danil Dorofeev.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the assault units entered the forest belts close to the settlement. At the same time, calculations of reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) conducted reconnaissance to identify firing positions, as well as places of accumulation of the AFU's manpower. Artillery and attack drone crews with ammunition-dropping systems were also involved. Under constant fire from enemy kamikaze drones, the tank guards of the Center group of forces successfully hit the enemy fortifications. Afterwards, under the cover of T-80BVM tanks, the assault aircraft of the Center troops group carried out an assault on a populated area in small groups. In the course of the battle, the Guards soldiers liberated Novelizavetovka and installed the Russian tricolor on one of the buildings.

Earlier, on January 29, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that military units of the troops "Center" with the help of drones destroyed firing points and command and observation posts of the Ukrainian militants in Novoilizavetovka. It is noted that the Russian Armed Forces fighters used strike drones. To destroy the exposed enemy positions, they also involved artillery calculations.

The liberation of Novelizavetovka in the DNR was reported earlier in the day. In addition, the AFU brigades in the areas of Andreevka, Novopavlovka, Udachny, Shcherbinovka and Tarasovka in the DNR were hit.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
