Trump accused Hamas of using condoms to make bombs

US President Donald Trump stopped the allocation of $50 million for the purchase of condoms, which Hamas allegedly used in the manufacture of bombs. He said this during a speech at the White House on January 29.
"We identified and stopped $50 million being sent to Gaza to buy condoms for Hamas. And you know what was happening to them? They were using them as a way to make bombs," Trump said.
Earlier, on Jan. 21, Trump suspended U.S. development assistance to other countries for 90 days by executive order. The rationale is that the "foreign aid industry" is not in Washington's interest, often contradicts U.S. values and supports destabilization in the world.
On 25 January, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) froze programs to support foreign countries, including Ukraine.
At the same time, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio by his order suspended the funding of foreign aid programs for 90 days. In addition to Ukraine, this decision affected such US allies as Jordan and Taiwan. The change, continuation or closure of the programs will take place exclusively by the secretary of state's decree.
Later, on January 28, White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt said that the administration of former US President Joe Biden spent budget funds like "drunken sailors." She noted that this was one of the reasons for the inflationary crisis in the country. It is reported that in this regard, the Trump administration temporarily stopped funding for a number of federal programs.
The next day, the State Department clarified that the United States will maintain funding for some of its national security programs, including the protection of personnel abroad, despite the decision to suspend foreign aid for 90 days. The department also noted that the pause would allow it to scrutinize and prevent its own losses.
