Analysts spoke about the growth of auto sales on marketplaces


Car sales on marketplaces from October to December 2024 increased by 726% compared to the same period of the previous year, analysts of AdTech company First Data told Izvestia.
In total, from October 2023, when cars became available on marketplaces, to January 2025, about 1.9 thousand cars worth 3.9 billion rubles were purchased in this way, the analysts calculated.
"A significant increase in sales came in the fourth quarter, during this period 760 cars were bought, which is 46% of all car purchases on marketplaces last year," the experts emphasized.
Chinese brands accounted for 94% of all purchases, the remaining 6% are Russian brands. Among Chinese cars the most demanded brand was Chery, model Tiggo 4 Pro. Among Russian cars the leader was Lada Granta.
Consumers from the Moscow, Sverdlovsk and Smolensk regions, Moscow and Tatarstan ordered cars most often on Wildberries marketplace. The models of Chery, Omoda, Jaecoo and Lada brands are in the highest demand.
On Ozon, the leaders are Chery Tiggo 4 Pro and Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max, as well as domestic Lada Vesta, Granta and Niva. Half of all orders come from Moscow, the Moscow region and St. Petersburg. Also online cars are often bought by residents of Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar and Krasnodar region. Residents of remote regions are also not left out: for example, one of the first Chery cars ordered went to Norilsk.
