Bondarchuk quits as head of the Board of Directors of Lenfilm Studios
Director and producer Fyodor Bondarchuk left the post of Chairman of the Board of Directors of the film studio "Lenfilm" in December 2024. This was reported to "Izvestia" PR-director of the director Maria Dalakyan on January 29.
According to her, the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Lyubimova officially granted his request to release him from the post, which he held since October 2012. This decision was due to the increase in employment on the issues of Bondarchuk's core business as the founder of Art Pictures Studio and general producer of NMG Studios.
Dalakyan noted that over the past 12 years, the entire infrastructure at Lenfilm Studios has been renovated, as well as restored historic facades and restarted pavilions. In addition, over the last 4 years more than 25 films shot at the studio have been released, more than 10 exhibition projects have taken place and a viewing platform has been opened.
In addition, together with the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, a groundbreaking project "Lenfilm Debut" was launched, a laboratory for debutant directors in full-meter. According to Bondarchuk's PR director, all these innovations and filming will continue in 2025 as normal.
Earlier, on December 11, 2024, the press service of Rosimushchestvo reported that the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation proposed to terminate the powers of the General Director of Lenfilm Eduard Suvorov and to appoint to his position former head of security of the company Nadezhda Andryushchenko.
