Telecom operators will be obliged to identify the caller

The authorities are introducing a nationwide automatic identifier for incoming city numbers. The subscriber will see the label "bank", "useful services" and so on. This will make it possible to understand whether a company or a fraudster is calling. The Ministry will make these identification rules mandatory for all telecom operators, Izvestia has learned.

As a rule, attackers introduce themselves as employees of the bank or law enforcement agencies, which inspire confidence in Russians, which allows offenders to commit crimes. Therefore, the regulator proposes to introduce new mandatory rules - we are talking about identification and verification of the identity of users, as well as the labeling of calls.

"Now on the screen of the user's phone will display the name of the organization and the person, which will allow you to understand whether it is a bank or a fraudster calling him," - said in the documents of the Ministry of Cifra.

The adoption of such a requirement will not require additional costs. The Mincifra is discussing possible measures for labeling calls with agencies and the industry, the ministry told Izvestia.
