In Kuban began to prepare for the disposal of the stern of the wrecked tanker "Volgoneft-239" in the Kerch Strait, the dismantling of interior decoration and removal of things is underway. This was reported on January 29 in the operational headquarters of the Krasnodar region.

"From the board of the tanker "Volgoneft-239" before the beginning of the disposal of the hull of the ship are taking out things. Also in the cabins and interior rooms began dismantling of plating, finishing structures and all that is to be removed from the ship," - stated in the message of the headquarters in Telegram-channel.

Workers are removing furniture and equipment from the stern of the ship, which are placed on trucks and taken away from the shore.

In addition, work is being completed on the construction of the technical shaft, which comes close to the side of the tanker. This structure of Volgoneft-239 will be able to be used by machinery during dismantling. In addition, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are stretching fire hoses around the perimeter of the ship's stern. They will be used to cool the walls during their cutting.

Earlier, on January 27, the cleaning of tanks and compartments of the tanker's stern from fuel oil was fully completed. Specialists began to develop documentation for the disposal of this part of the ship, which sits aground at Cape Panagia in the Temryuksky district of the Krasnodar Territory. Before that, on January 23, the head of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation Alexander Kozlov said that the Russian government will transfer 1.5 billion rubles to reimburse the costs incurred in the process of eliminating the consequences of the wreck of the two ships.

Tankers Volgoneft-212 andVolgoneft-239crashed in the Kerch Strait on December 15, 2024 due to bad weather. The incident resulted in a spill of oil products. 27 people were evacuated from both vessels, one person died. On the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a working group was set up to coordinate work to eliminate the consequences of the emergency.
