The bodies of elderly spouses were found in the forest near the city of Kostomuksha in the Republic of Karelia. This was reported on January 29 by the press service of the Investigative Department (ID) of the Investigative Committee (IC) for the region.

Information about the disappearance of the couple was received on January 22. The spouses stopped contacting each other and were absent from home.

At first, investigators found the body of the man. There were no signs of criminal nature in his death. Later, on January 28, investigators found the man's wife dead. As the agency notes, on the body of the missing woman were found injuries indicating the violent nature of her death.

"In the criminal case appointed forensic medical examination to establish the exact cause of death of the victim, investigative and other procedural actions are carried out, aimed at collecting and consolidating the evidence base", - stated in the message of the IC in Telegram-channel.

Earlier, on January 2, it was reported that in the Yakutsk village of Tyubya found the body of a pensioner missing on December 30, 2024. The man born in 1949 lived alone and suffered from dementia. In the morning of December 30, a neighbor did not find him at home, a search was organized, which involved three rescuers, five villagers and a police officer.
