The tutor gave advice on preparing for the USE

The Unified State Examination (USE) is an exciting test for a Russian graduate. But you can prepare for any test if you give yourself enough time. Evgeny Panfilov, a Russian language tutor and a specialist of the Profi.ru service, told Izvestia how many weeks, months or even years it will take to get the right number of points, and also gave some tips.
It is believed that preparation for the USE requires from several months to a year due to too much material. However, the expert is sure that the chances of passing the exam successfully depend on what knowledge base the student already has, how he prepares and what result he strives for.
"The question reasonably arises as to what it means to "prepare for the USE". If it is necessary to simply pass the exam for admission to a "paid" university, then 40 points will be enough. For such a result, there is no need for long preparation: the same two months are quite possible. And if there is a desire to compete for the "budget", and even in a top university, it is better to start preparing in a leisurely mode from the beginning of the 10th grade. Each next point on the way to the cherished 80, 90 or 100 will be given more and more difficult. For example, it will be twice as difficult to "move" from stable 80 to 90 points than from 70 to 80", - explained the expert.
The tutor noted that the main thing when preparing for the USE is to organize your time correctly, focus on key topics and practice intensively.
"It is very important to properly manage time, make a lesson plan, schedule, set deadlines and follow them. Another tip is to practice intensively. Solve as many tests and assignments as possible to get used to the exam format. This will help you realize where you make mistakes and work on your weaknesses," Panfilov said.
The specialist also drew attention to the importance of getting feedback. If possible, you should ask your teacher or tutor to check your work and give advice. In addition, it is useful to discuss difficult questions with classmates or friends who are also preparing for the USE.
At the same time, the exam is always stressful. Therefore, as the expert explained, it is very important to be prepared psychologically - you should establish sleep, learn to control emotions and meditate, do breathing exercises, discuss worries with loved ones and be sure to rest.
Earlier, on December 29, 2024, it was reported that the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation set the minimum scores of the USE for the 2025/26 academic year. The minimum score for the exam in mathematics will be 39, and in Russian language - 42, in physics - 39, in foreign language - 30, in literature - 40, in biology - 39, in geography - 40, in chemistry - 39, in social science - 45, in history - 35, in computer science - 44.
