Fines for non-payment of parking fees for legal entities increased 10 times in Moscow

The fine for legal entities for non-payment of city parking in Moscow has been increased 10 times - from 5 thousand to 50 thousand rubles. The Moscow City Duma adopted amendments to the capital CAO. This was reported by its press service on January 29.
The amendments are made to Article 8.14 of the Administrative Code of Moscow. As the chairman of the Moscow City Duma Commission on transport and road infrastructure development Sabina Tsvetkova stated, for legal entities the fine of 5 thousand rubles "ceased to be tangible".
"Often dishonest drivers leave cars near socially important institutions - schools, MFC, health care facilities. This creates significant inconvenience for Muscovites," Tsvetkova said.
Chairman of the Moscow City Council Alexei Shaposhnikov emphasized that the main goal of the law is to reduce the number of cases of non-payment for the use of parking spaces in the paid city parking lot.
Alexander Davankov, head of the New People party faction and a member of the Moscow City Council commission on urban planning, state property and land use, criticized the bill and suggested postponing its adoption. He stated that there are thousands of companies in Moscow that are engaged in small and medium-sized businesses, for which the loss of such a high amount would be very tangible. Instead of raising the fine, Davankov suggested introducing a progressive scale of fines.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that the State Duma proposed to allow Russians to pass an external driver's license after 30 hours of training with an instructor, as well as to pass the theory without mandatory attendance at a driving school.
