The participant of the Great Patriotic War Boris Kravtsov was awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of Moscow. The veteran is 102 years old, and he is the country's last Hero of the Soviet Union, the head of the city Sergey Sobyanin said in his personal blog in Telegram.

"On behalf of Muscovites, I congratulate Boris Vasilyevich on the awarding of the title "Honorary Citizen of Moscow". I thank you for the feat and selfless service to the Motherland and our city!" - he wrote.

With the initiative to make front-line soldiers honorary citizens of their regions, cities and municipalities, came Russian President Vladimir Putin. In response, the mayor of the capital made a proposal to the Moscow City Duma to honor Boris Kravtsov with this title, and the parliamentarians supported it.

Sobyanin added that in the coming days will send to the municipal councils of deputies proposals to award the title "Honorary resident of the municipality" to all Muscovites - participants of the World War II.
