Klitschko accused the head of Kiev's military administration of usurping power

Kiev mayor Vitaliy Klitschko has accused the new leadership of the military administration of the country's capital of attempting to usurp power. He recorded a corresponding appeal to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (his term of office expired on May 20, 2024) on January 29, posting it in his Telegram channel.
Klitschko pointed out that people from the entourage of the head of state continue to conduct political intrigues, which has already become critical. This is expressed in an attempt to "unbalance power and destroy local self-government" in Kiev.
"The new head of KMVA (Kyiv City Military Administration. - Ed.) without military education and experience, <...> blocks the solution of key economic issues," Klitschko said.
He added that the issue is the restoration of damaged buildings and infrastructure. The mayor of Kiev noted that the military administration is a temporary body that solves only defense and security issues. And its chief has no right to "overstep his authority," Gazeta.Ru adds.
In early December last year, Klitschko reported that brigades of laborers who work in Kiev would be redirected to the city of Krivoy Rog in southeastern Ukraine to carry out work to restore heating systems. He specified that the Kiev mayor's office would send more than 20 employees of the Kyivteploenergo company to Kryvyi Rih, as well as six units of special equipment.
In July, Klitschko also noted that Zelensky, unwilling to make important decisions on his own, has concentrated too much power in his hands and does not want to give it up. At the same time, the Kiev mayor noted that the Verkhovna Rada has lost any significant political role, but presidential elections are still not required in Ukraine because it would divide the society in the country.
