Economist tells about ways for schoolchildren to earn money in 2025

Modern schoolchildren have many ways to earn money, from helping relatives and working at the movies to remote work, but it is better to search for the first job with parents on verified sites to avoid fraud. Anna Anisimova, economist, director of the service Merchant CRM Anna Anisimova told about it on Wednesday, January 29.

"First of all, parents should make sure of the reliability of the organization offering the vacancy, assess the conditions, the amount of pay and the child's capabilities, for example, his state of health and the availability of free time. Then the parents or the child himself conclude a contract with the organization in accordance with the labor law," "Gazeta.Ru" reports her words .

The economist advises schoolchildren to choose a job based on their interests, and not to act secretly, as an independent search for work without parental consent can lead to risks, such as non-payment of wages or fines.

Anisimova noted that the Russian Labor Code sets limits on the employment of children: before the age of 14, only light work in the arts and entertainment sector is allowed with the consent of parents and guardianship; from the age of 14, it is possible to work independently if one has completed nine grades or is attending college.

"If the student is still in school in the ninth or 10th grade, the work should not interfere with studies. Parental consent will be required for the contract. The law establishes the time when a schoolchild can work: for example, a teenager of 14-15 years old can work up to four hours a day during vacations and up to two and a half hours - after school," the woman said, noting that after the age of 16, a teenager does not need to obtain parental permission to work.

According to her, schoolchildren are increasingly becoming entrepreneurs, and from the age of 14 they can register as an individual entrepreneur or self-employed, providing a notarized parental consent.

Earlier, on January 26, the results of research marketplace "Vyberu.ru" showed that among the surveyed Russians 37% are sure that for a successful career a child needs to start earning at school age. 6% of respondents expressed the opinion that a child should be rewarded with money for various tasks from the age of five, 7% are sure that the optimal age to get acquainted with the first earnings is 10 years old, 8% chose the age of 10-14 years old, and 16% of respondents assume that the first money a child should start earning at the age of 14-16 years old.
