An expert spoke about the benefits of buying a home

By purchasing an apartment, citizens create an asset that can grow in value. An apartment is not only a place to live, but also an investment in the future, which does not depend on the landlord's decisions. This was told to "Izvestia" on January 30 by Alexey Lashko, a financial expert and head of Sodeistribution Group of Companies Alexey Lashko.
"By purchasing an apartment, you create an asset that can grow in value. An apartment is not only housing, but also capital, i.e. an investment in the future. You do not depend on the decisions of the landlord and can equip the housing to your taste," Lashko explained.
According to him, real estate can be sold, rented out and thus provide additional income. It is also important to note that there are government programs that help offset some of the costs of housing, especially in view of the adoption of the bill to extend the maternity capital program until the end of 2030.
"The minuses of buying a home are high initial costs - the need to save for a down payment or pay the mortgage. All repair work falls on the shoulders of the owner. If you take a mortgage, it is a serious financial burden for many years," said Lashko.
According to the expert, if a person plans to live in one place for a long time, is ready for long-term commitments and wants to invest in an asset, then buying an apartment will be the best choice. If mobility is important, is not ready for big spending and wants to avoid responsibility for housing, renting will suit better.
Earlier, on January 9, "Izvestia" got acquainted with the study of the company "Airplane" where it was reported on the mandatory amenities of Russians when buying an apartment. According to experts, in the new year Muscovites want to buy apartments with walk-in closets (23%), built-in pantries (15%), additional outlets on the balcony (13%), a second bathroom (12%), a master bedroom (9%) and a niche for a washing machine (8%).
