Iran's foreign minister called for Israelis to be resettled in Greenland

Instead of transferring the residents of the Gaza Strip to Jordan and Egypt, it is necessary to send the citizens of Israel to Greenland and thus kill two birds with one stone, said Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi. His words were quoted by The Jerusalem Post on its website on January 28.
"Instead of the Palestinians, try to expel the Israelis, take them to Greenland so they can kill two birds with one stone," Araqchi said.
The statement came in response to an earlier proposal from US President Donald Trump to relocate Palestinians from Gaza to Jordan or Egypt. Araqchi also warned Israel against attacking the Islamic republic's nuclear facilities, with or without US backing.
"Any attack on our nuclear facilities will be met with an immediate and strong response. But I don't think they will do such a crazy thing, because it would turn the whole region into a very terrible catastrophe," Araqchi added.
On January 26, it was reported that Trump, during a press session aboard Air Force One, said that it was possible to resettle refugees from the Gaza Strip in a number of Arab countries. It was specified that he offered Jordan, Egypt and other Arab countries to accept more people.
The Gaza ceasefire agreement was announced on January 15. The next day, the Defense Ministry and the Israel Defense Forces began preparations to implement the agreements, which the government approved on January 17 following a six-hour meeting.
The situation in the Middle East escalated on the morning of October 7, 2023, when Hamas subjected Israeli territory to a massive rocket attack from the Gaza Strip. On the same day, Israel began to launch retaliatory strikes.
