12 million cars were connected to the state information system "ERA-GLONASS", the anniversary car came off the assembly line of AvtoVAZ. This was reported to "Izvestia" on January 29 in the company "GLONASS".

According to the operator, the fleet of cars connected to the state information system for 2024 increased by 1.5 million vehicles, and this year is expected to increase by at least 1 million cars. Now every fifth vehicle in Russia is connected to ERA-GLONASS.

Due to integration with regional systems 112 "ERA-GLONASS" sends coordinates and general characteristics of cars to rescuers in an average of 19 seconds. For the entire period of its operation, the system has transmitted to the emergency services more than 440 thousand calls in case of road accidents. For 2024, the figure reached 93 thousand messages, of which almost 10% were in Moscow.

January 10, representatives of "GLONASS" reported to "Izvestia" that last December there was a record number of emergency calls for the month - 10.3 thousand. According to the CEO of the company Alexei Raikevich, most (83%) of all emergency messages for the year were received by automatic activation of SOS buttons or devices for calling emergency services in cars. This shows the severity of accidents when drivers or passengers were unable to call for help themselves, he explained.
