Ukrainian journalist Oksana Panchenko has asked NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte about the timeframe for ending the Ukrainian conflict. She asked such a question on January 28 under his post on the social network X (former Twitter).

On the same day, Rutte published a post in which he reported a meeting with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and said that they had discussed support for Kiev, among other things.

"Your support for Ukraine has led to the deaths of almost a million Ukrainians. When will you end this <conflict>?" - Panchenko wrote under the North Atlantic Alliance secretary general's post.

Earlier, on January 23, Rutta said that losing Ukraine in the conflict would cost NATO additional trillions of dollars. According to him, member states need to strengthen support for Kiev, not weaken it, as the front line is not moving in the direction the alliance seeks.

On Jan. 21, U.S. President Donald Trump said the alliance should spend more than Washington to help Ukraine. The conflict affects Europe much more, the American leader noted at the time.

Before that, on January 13, the NATO Secretary General said that Ukraine could not negotiate with Russia from a position of strength.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
