The Ministry of Agriculture has set a task to fully provide farmers with Russian seeds

One of the main tasks of the Ministry of Agriculture is to fully provide agrarians with Russian seeds. This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Agriculture Oksana Lut on January 29 during her speech at the annual All-Russian agronomic meeting.

"Our task is to provide ourselves fully with our own seeds. Domestic breeding - we will not go anywhere from it. There is no need to resist, we must accept it. Yes, we will work on quality. <...> We are increasing the share [of domestic seeds] every year," Lut stated.

Luth also noted that the share of domestically produced seeds is increasing every year, and plans for the current year are aimed at further expanding this process, "We have made plans for the current year, <...> and we have to fulfill these plans for the use of domestically produced seeds. This is a task, this is not up for discussion."

Lut also said that Russian agrarians have tentatively harvested 128 million tons of grain by the end of 2024. According to her, this is the fifth in the history of the result for cereals.

Prior to that, on January 27, Lut spoke about training in the agro-industrial complex (AIC). According to her, it is planned to organize the work of 18 thousand agro-classes across the country by 2030 within the framework of the national project.
