Fraudsters have come up with a new scheme to defraud people because of the popularity of Dubai chocolate. They steal personal data through fake websites. This is reported on January 29 in the Telegram-channel of the Department for the organization of the fight against the illegal use of information and communication technologies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

"Fraudsters always react to current trends and news. The continuing rise in popularity of Dubai chocolate is no exception. Citizens' interest in the dessert is used for phishing attacks and fake deliveries," - stated in the message.

It is specified that scammers create fake websites with logos of famous brands, through which they lure personal data of buyers.

According to the agency, the company Dubai chocolate officially stated that they do not have an online store and do not engage in sales on social networks.

Earlier, on December 17, 2024, the CBP of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported a new fraud: under the guise of a tracker, a person downloads a mobile banking Trojan - Mamont, which gains access to the phone. In addition to login details for the banking app, attackers can also gain access to the contact book, photo archive, email, cryptographic keys and electronic signatures.
