Arabica coffee exchange prices have surpassed a historic high

Exchange prices for Arabica coffee have exceeded the historical maximum, reaching almost $ 8 thousand per ton. This became known on January 29 from the trading data on the ICE exchange, reported "RIA Novosti".
The cost of March futures for Arabica coffee beans rose by 2.3%, reaching $7.85 thousand per ton. The price of March futures for Robusta coffee rose by 0.49% to $5.5 thousand per ton.
It is noted that the total cost of coffee during 2024 increased by 1.7 times.
Earlier, on January 11, General Director of "Roschaykofe" Ramaz Chanturia told "Izvestia" that coffee prices at most firms continue to increase due to the growth of the cost of processed goods, which is due to the rise in the cost of raw materials, increased costs of doing business, rising tariffs and changes in dollar exchange rates. According to him, the simultaneous increase in prices for Arabica and Robusta has not been recorded before, which leads to difficult conditions and creates anxiety among both representatives of the coffee industry and coffee lovers.
