- Victory Volunteers launched registration for key All-Russian and International projects

100 days before Victory Day, Victory Volunteers launched the registration of volunteers for key All-Russian and international projects. The press conference was held at the Rossiya Segodnya news agency.
In the year of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the Movement will hold the 10th anniversary contest "Ambassadors of Victory. Moscow". This is a traditional contest of the Movement, the winners of which gather in the hero-city of Moscow to accompany our country's main Victory Parade on Red Square. This year the organizers of the contest introduced changes in the selection conditions: for the first time any citizen from 18 years of age can participate in the selection without limitation on the upper age limit, and the applicants for participation in the volunteer corps of the Victory Parade can be volunteers who received the status of Victory Ambassador in previous years. The start of registration for the contest was announced by Olga Zanko, the Chairman of the Central Headquarters of Victory Volunteers, who also spoke about other events and meanings of the year of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War: "Every volunteer undergoes special training. An important section in the training of volunteers is the historical block. Volunteers will remember the events and Heroes of the Great Patriotic War. This will help to realize once again that the Great Victory is the salvation of the Soviet people from destruction and genocide. After all, more than 13 million civilians died at the hands of the Nazis and their accomplices, more than 7 million people were destroyed by the Nazis deliberately. We have also included a section devoted to the special military operation. It covers the preconditions of its beginning, the events in Donbass, the exploits of modern Heroes. This knowledge will help volunteers not only in organizing commemorative events, but will also help them to become guides of historical truth, connecting the past and the present, strengthening the values of patriotism", - Olga Zanko noted.
Within the framework of the International Forum of Victory Volunteers, which was held in October 2024, Victory Volunteers together with partner organizations announced the creation of the International Volunteer Corps of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, which will unite more than 500,000 volunteers across the country and abroad. Anyone who wishes to preserve historical memory can become part of significant actions such as "St. George Ribbon", "Candle of Memory", "Fire Paintings of War" and others.
Opportunities for participation in patriotic actions are actively scaled for compatriots living abroad and foreign youth who are interested in the history of Russia. One of the key events timed to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War will bring together 50 volunteers who preserve the historical memory of the events of the Great Patriotic War from around the world.
Recall that anyone can become part of the International Volunteer Corps of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and take part in patriotic actions.
