Media reported a large number of drug addicts among Ukrainian mobilized soldiers

People with alcohol or drug addiction are increasingly being mobilized to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was reported by the Ukrayinska Pravda news and analysis website on January 29, citing its sources.
"They bring everyone in a row - drunk, "stoned", "smoked", "sniffed". But I have the option to refuse such personnel, because I have a specific intelligence unit. Of course, it is not always possible, because the General Staff criticizes combatants and kombrigs if they do not accept the additional resource," the edition on its website quotes one of the officers-marines.
According to him, unit commanders are trying to put such people in positions where they "will be useful".
The publication added that finding alcohol in the combat zone is not a problem for the military, although they are not allowed to drink alcohol.
On 21 January, a captured Ukrainian serviceman, Dmytro Verbitskyy, said that AFU servicemen widely use narcotic substances supplied to them by their compatriots. According to him, fellow servicemen ordered drugs in the training school and they were brought to them without any problems.
Earlier, on October 27, captured AFU soldier Volodymyr Nepretvoreny told Izvestia about problems with alcohol and drugs in the Ukrainian army. He said that volunteers were involved in the delivery of narcotic substances to the units. Moreover, sergeants and officers of combat units know about it and benefit from it.
Martial law in Ukraine has been in force since February 2022. Then the country's President Volodymyr Zelensky (powers expired in May 2024) signed a decree on general mobilization. Later, the Verkhovna Rada repeatedly extended its effect. Most men between the ages of 18 and 60 are forbidden to leave the country. In April 2024, the head of the Kiev regime approved the law on tougher mobilization.
