Congress has proposed adding Trump's portrait to Mount Rushmore

The United States has brought to a vote of Congress a bill that would allow the addition of a portrait of US President Donald Trump on Mount Rushmore. Anna Paulina Luna, a member of the House of Representatives (lower house of Congress), said on January 29.
"I have officially introduced a bill to create a portrait of President Trump on Mount Rushmore," she wrote on social network X (former Twitter).
According to the politician, the outstanding achievements of the American leader for the good of the country should be immortalized and deserve recognition. It is indicated that the execution of the task of creating a sculptural bas-relief will be entrusted to the Minister of Interior of the country.
The memorial on Mount Rushmore is a bas-relief 18.6 meters high with portraits of American presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln.
That said, Trump himself denied reports back in 2020 that he allegedly wanted his face added to the memorial with the four presidents. At the time, The New York Times published an article that said that in 2018, Trump during a conversation with South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem allegedly talked about wanting to immortalize his profile on Rushmore.
