- Meeting on the vote of no confidence in Fico again failed due to non-appearance of deputies

A meeting on the issue of passing a vote of no confidence in Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico failed for the second day in a row due to the non-appearance of deputies of the National Council (Slovak parliament). This was reported by the Slovak newspaper Pravda on January 29.
This time there were 58 officials in attendance - eight fewer than yesterday. At least 76 deputies need to be present to hold a session.
The deputy speaker of the country's parliament, Tibor Gašpar, in turn, read out the names of those who had not properly apologized for their absence from the meeting.
It is noted that another attempt will be made to hold the meeting.
The day before it was reported that the meeting on the vote of no confidence in Fico did not take place due to the fact that the deputies of the National Council ignored it. Then in the hall gathered 66 representatives of opposition parties.
January 22, it was reported that the Slovak opposition re-proposed a vote of no confidence in the government Fitzo. It is noted that party representatives have collected more than 50 signatures from opposition MPs and expect a vote in the Slovak Parliament within the next seven days.
